Registrar & Clergy

Bury St. Edmunds Registry Office

You need to book a Registrar to officiate Civil Ceremonies at Hengrave Hall (outside ceremony, Banqueting Hall, Dining Room & Library are all registered).

If you are wishing to marry within the Church of St John Lateran, you will require a clergy (an 8 day residency requirement will be needed if you live outside of Suffolk).

Celebrants and Blessings

Some couples prefer to make use of the church for a blessing following a Civil Ceremony. This can of course be religious or non-religious and both Tina and Alison offer varying options.

Reverend Alison Miller (Blessings only, or local churches)

It is the responsibility of the couple to seek the services of the Registrar and or Clergy for your special day at Hengrave Hall. Please do speak to a member of the events team if you need any clarification on the booking of these or any advice.
